HOUSE OF THE DAY: The 172-Acre Horse Farm You Can Buy And Turn Into Condos
Lana Lobell Farms in northern New Jersey, a classic American horse farm, is for sale. The 13,500-square-feet main mansion oversees 172 acres of land, complete with horse stalls, barns and a racing track, a river and an awe-inspiring view.
Now the place that was used for privileged fox hounds hunts in the early 20th century is looking for a new owner. Horse lovers are most welcome, but the property is large and beneficially zoned so it can be used for multiple purposes, such as: “a beautiful estate, a equestrian facility, a church or school location,” or up to nine residential subdivisions.
At least one famous football player looked at the property (we were asked to not reveal the name), and Morgan Stanley reportedly used the location for a photo shoot.

Study reveals FTSE bosses enjoy 5% pay rise

Lloyds agrees private equity unit sale
Lloyds Banking Group, which is 41% owned by the taxpayer, has announced it has agreed to sell its private equity unit to buyout firm Coller Capital in a deal worth £332 million.

Greece makes progress in deficit cuts
The tough austerity measures implemented by the Greek Government appear to be a success after the country’s Finance Minister, George Papaconstantinou, claimed the deficit has been trimmed by 42% this year and the country had “met its goal“.

Nationwide terminates England sponsorship deal
Nationwide Building Society is to terminate its £20 million sponsorship deal of the England football team after 11 seasons.
The announcement is a further blow to the England team and follows its early exit from the World Cup tournament.
