CHART: Eduardo Saverin’s Not The Only One Trying To Save Money By Renouncing His Citizenship
Did you know the government publishes a quarterly list of every individual who renounces his or her citizenship?
The Wall Street Journal’s infographics team decided to crunch the data and came up with a chart tracking the growth of how many Americans no longer wish to be so.
The results are fairly striking:

The accompanying article by Laura Sanders notes that in 2010, Congress passed a law requiring foreign financial institutions to certify that U.S. taxpayers aren’t hiding money in them as a condition for being allowed to do business here.
Funny how that appears to coincide with the sudden surge that year.

29 Smart Answers To Tough Interview Questions

In her book 301 Smart Answers to Tough Interview Questions, Vicky Oliver says jobseekers need to treat interviews like a final exam, because it’s ”rigorous” and “psychologically draining.”
“Make no mistake: in order to prevail, you are going to need to trounce your competition. You could be competing against someone with three times your experience, or conversely, against someone who can do the job at half your salary level,” Oliver says.
We compiled some of the toughest questions from her book accompanied with smart answers that will help you survive the elimination round.
Q: Will you be out to take my job?

A: Maybe in about twenty years, but by then, I suspect you’ll be running the entire company and will need a good, loyal lieutenant to help you manage this department!

Q: What if you work here for five years and don’t get promoted? Many of our employees don’t. Won’t you find it frustrating?

A: I consider myself ambitious, but I’m also practical. As long as I am continuing to learn and grow within my position, I’ll be a happy camper. Different companies promote people at different rates, and I’m pretty confident that working for you will keep my motivated and mentally stimulated for several years to come.

Q: What is your biggest weakness that’s really a weakness, and not a secret strength?

A: I am extremely impatient. I expect my employees to prove themselves on the very first assignment. If they fail, my tendency is to stop delegating to them and start doing everything myself.
To compensate for my own weakness, however, I have started to really prep my people on exactly what will be expected of them.

Home Buyers Are Heading To The Suburbs, Not Dense Cities

Jed Kolko, the chief economist of real estate website Trulia, told Meg Handley of the US News, Jed Kolko, said that people are looking to buy houses in suburbs and not in big cities.
More online house hunters are looking toward the suburbs and smaller cities that toward big, dense cities. Even though people say they want urban amenities, when they start searching for a new home, they’re drawn to more space at a lower price rather than the benefits of big-city living.
The average home buyers are facing a conundrum, as they desire the amenities of the big-cities, but prefer the size and prices of homes in smaller suburbs.
Over the course of the next few years this could have an affect on the prices of purchases in both suburbs and in big cities, and may also alter the prices of rents in both areas. This is certainly a trend worth monitoring.

The Era Of Privatized Space Exploration Starts Tomorrow

While NASA may no longer be sending astronauts into orbit, private industry is just getting started.
Tomorrow, SpaceX, the brainchild of Tesla founder Elon Musk, will be sending supplies to the International Space Station from Cape Canveral, FL.
This is the first time that a commercial craft will dock with the station.
The two-day mission will see the launch capsule dock with the space station. It is supposed to be totally autonomous, which will be an interesting feat in itself.
At the end of the mission, the Dragon — that’s what the capsule portion is called —will disconnect and return to Earth with a payload on hand.
Here’s where it gets tricky.
The Dragon has to survive reentry into the atmosphere and splashdown into the Pacific Ocean. The intention is to then reuse it for future missions. If it succeeds, it will be huge news for the future of private space exploration.
The launch is scheduled to occur at 4:55 AM EST tomorrow, exactly. If it doesn’t occur then, the launch will need to be delayed until May 22. That is because the space station will be in the wrong position to pair with the Dragon.
It is that precise. Best of luck to SpaceX, we sincerely hope they succeed.
