It’s Almost A Lock That The Next iPhone Will Run On Advanced 4G Networks (AAPL)

The next version of the iPad will reportedly run on high speed LTE wireless networks.

If this report proves out to be true, then it’s more likely the next iPhone will also run on the LTE, or 4G networks, notes John Gruber at Daring Fireball. The iPhone currently runs on the slower, but more widespread 3G networks.

It would be odd for Apple to release the iPad on an LTE network but skip it for the iPhone. Once it gets comfortable with the technology, we would think it incorporates it into a phone.

However, Bloomberg reports, “Apple is bringing LTE to the iPad before the iPhone because the tablet has a bigger battery and can better support the power requirements of the newer technology.”

If it can’t get better battery life figured out for the iPhone, it might skip LTE.

All of Apple’s rivals are rolling out some version of a smartphone that runs on 4G networks. That doesn’t typically matter to Apple, though. It wants to release a product that works well. That means waiting for more deployment of 4G networks, as well as better battery life for smartphones running on 4G.

McCain Endorses Romney, Gingrich PAC Immediately Posts Old McCain Attack Ad On Romney

Just a few hours after John McCain endorsed Mitt Romney’s candidacy in New Hampshire, a pro-Newt Gingrich PAC, Winning Our Future, has brought up bad memories of the none-too-friendly relationship between the former rivals in 2008.

Earlier today, all old attack ads from McCain and Romney’s YouTube pages disappeared. But one, an old web ad entitled “A Tale of Two Mitts,” is still available online, and it is now on the front page of Winning Our Future’s website.

Why does this ad exist? Because in 2008, Romney and McCain battled it out for the nomination, and McCain often attacked Romney for flip-flopping. This is further proof that Gingrich intends to run a nasty campaign against Romney).

The ad uses Mitt Romney’s changing positions on abortion, gun rights, and conservatism against him. It ends with the text, “Mitt Romney’s Flip Flops Truly Are Masterpieces,” before McCain’s approval of the ad.

Alleged Financial Fraudster Gets Arrested For Trying To Pull One On Eddie Murphy’s Ex

Nicole Murphy

Troy Stratos, a financial advisor that had been facing various fraud charges relating to his dealings with several Hollywood figures, was arrested in Los Angeles yesterday, Bloomberg reported.

Stratos has most prominently been connected to Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife, Nicole Murphy. He became her financial advisor in 2006 after her divorce, and the two apparently used to be childhood sweethearts, according to Bloomberg Markets.

That romance definitely ended when she sued him earlier this year in federal court, claiming that he had defrauded her of $11 million. Stratos allegedly told her he would use money from her divorce settlement to invest abroad, and instead used in his movie production ventures and to buy a Rolls Royce. A Bloomberg Markets magazine profile of Stratos called him the man that was always “running away in limousines.”

A court filing related to Stratos’ arrest gave some more ridiculous details of Stratos’ relationship with Murphy:

Stratos also allegedly told Murphy that members of Middle Eastern royal families were interested in buying her house and that she should lease luxury cars to have on the property to make it more enticing. The buyers would take the cars as part of the package, according to the charges.

In fact, Stratos lived in the house and drove the cars, and there was never any deal arranged, prosecutors said.

The arrest shouldn’t be anything shocking for Stratos, he’s been all over the world looking of investors for the last 15 years, according to Bloomberg Markets.

The Teenage Dancer At The Center Of Silvio Berlusconi’s Underage Prostitution Trial Has Become A Mother

ruby the heart stealer

Karima el Mahroug, the Moroccan dancer at the heart of Silvio Berlusconi’s trial for sex with an underage prostitute, has become a mother at the age of 19-years-old, reports the Telegraph.

El Mahroug, otherwise known as Ruby The Heart Stealer, gave birth to a baby girl fathered by the 42-year-old owner of two nightclubs in Genoa where the dancer worked. The Daily Mail reports that El Mahroug gave birth five days early; she was due to have the baby on Christmas day.

It is alleged that Berlusconi paid el Mahroug for sex when she was just 17-years-old. If true, the former Italian Prime Minister could face a jail sentence of up to three years for the crime plus 12 years for an abuse of office. He has denied all charges against him despite prosecutors and witnesses testifying that El Mahroug was a prostitute.

Herman Cain Hits The Reset Button After Gaffes

herman cain cnn debate

Businessman Herman Cain’s presidential campaign is hitting the reset button after a several high-profile gaffes and negative media stories.

Newsweek/The Daily Beast’s Howard Kurtz writes that Cain’s is slowing down his speaking schedule after a rapid-fire month in which he vaulted to the top-tier.

“We’re trying to slow down a little bit, make sure he’s rested, make sure he’s focused,” says J.D. Gordon, the campaign’s vice president for communications. The goal is to achieve a “more deliberate pace…so we don’t make those kinds of mistakes.”

Cain’s flip-flop on abortion over the weekend has the potential to be severely damaging to his newly-ascendant campaign — drawing a long attack ad from former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

As his rivals are preparing to subject him to the same scrutiny as the more disciplined Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, he can’t afford many more such gaffes.
